Welcome to the Freebaser project
The Freebaser project is collective of free (www.fsf.org), simple, elegant, usefull multi-platform database applications, with the goal solving organisationals issues.
The current release of Freebaser includes the following databse applications:
- Client database
- Member database
- Contacts database
- Task List / Todo list
- Workflow
Freebaser applications are easily customised to any need as they are all designed using the phpmyedit framework
All the the applications in Freebaser are extendable so if they dont
cover your exact need, it no hassle to add the extra features or
fields.
Why use Freebaser?
When a spreadsheet is to limited and Access/Filemaker/SAP etc are
to large and expensive,
this is where Freebaser comes into play. Freebaser follows the
unix ideology of 'doing one small thing and do it well'. The Client
database application wont make your toast or clean your clothes but it
allow
you to maintain a database of your clients and do it well. Also Freebaser is licensed under the GNU GPL v2
Why not to use Freebaser?
Because you want your database to run your organisation and not use
your database to run your organisation. or because you cant be assed
setting up mysql
